Ferry County Jail Mugshots
Ferry County's public roster PDFs do not display booking photos in the sample inspected during research. The June 29, 2026 roster PDF showed text fields for Name #, Name, Initial Booking, Booked For, and Booking Type. It did not show a mugshot column, a photo grid, or clickable inmate profiles with images.
No official Ferry County most-wanted mugshot gallery, recent-bookings photo gallery, or app-only mugshot tool was confirmed. The Sheriff's Office page links social media, but the research did not confirm an official Ferry County Sheriff or Republic Police mobile app with a roster or photo feature. The reliable local path is custody confirmation first, then a records request if a booking photo is needed for a lawful purpose.
What is public: Ferry County publishes a current jail roster register. The inspected roster format did not publish booking photos, charge statutes, bond, housing, or release-date details.
Ferry County Roster Shows Instead
The county roster remains important even when it does not show a mugshot. It confirms whether the person is currently listed, provides the booking number, and shows the agency or custody source. Ferry County also tells users to use the Booking # as the Offender ID in VINELink after choosing Ferry County Corrections.
The official Ferry County Inmate Roster page is the first place to check before seeking any Ferry County booking photo.
The county page supports a text roster and custody-notification workflow, not a public mugshot gallery.
Ferry County Booking Photo Fields
A mugshot page should not promise fields that Ferry County does not publish. The inspected public roster row was short and did not include a photo. It also omitted several fields that many larger jail databases publish. That difference is central to Ferry County booking-photo access.
| Field | What the Ferry County Public Roster Shows |
|---|---|
| Booking Photo | Not shown in the inspected PDF roster. |
| Name # | Shown as the numeric identifier and Booking # for VINELink use. |
| Name | Shown in the roster row. |
| Initial Booking | Shown as booking date and time. |
| Booked For | Shown as agency or custody source. |
| Booking Type | Shown as broad category, such as warrant, commitment, inmate booking, DOC hold, or other-county hold. |
| Charges and Bond | Not shown in the inspected PDF roster. |
Washington Mugshot Record Law
Washington law makes the jail register public, but it does not make the full jail file or every booking photograph automatically public. RCW 70.48.100 requires the jail register to include basic confinement and discharge facts. The same statute generally treats records of a person confined in jail as confidential unless an exception applies.
Key Statutes:
RCW 70.48.100 makes the jail register public and addresses limits on inmate records and booking-photograph use.
RCW 42.56.080 covers identifiable public-record requests under Washington's Public Records Act.
RCW 4.24.550 is referenced for sex-offender or kidnapping-offender public notification, one context where photographs and information can be disseminated.
Request Ferry County Booking Photo
Because the inspected roster does not post photos, a person who needs a booking photo should make a specific public-records request rather than rely on unofficial sources. The request should identify the person, booking number if known, booking date or date range, and the record being requested. The request can be routed through Jail, Sheriff, or Public Records depending on the county form path.
- Check the current roster PDF and confirm the person, Name #, Booked For agency, and Booking Type.
- Use VINELink or the jail phone line to confirm custody if timing matters.
- File a request through the Ferry County Citizen Request Center or the county GovQA public-records portal.
- Ask specifically for the booking photograph and include the lawful purpose or context if helpful.
- Expect the county to apply RCW 70.48.100 and any other exemption or confidentiality rule that fits the record.
Washington's public-records response framework generally requires an agency response within five business days, but that response may provide records, ask for clarification, give an estimate, or deny the request with an exemption basis.
Ferry County Mugshot Timing
Ferry County did not publish a local mugshot retention window because the roster did not appear to publish mugshots at all. The county does publish roster PDFs through a document center, and historical roster documents were visible during research. That does not mean past booking photos are publicly posted or available without legal review.
If a person has left custody, the public roster may no longer answer a photo question. A released or past booking issue may require a public-records request, a court record search, or a direct inquiry with the agency that created the record. A court file is still different from a jail photograph, so do not assume one office can provide every record type.
VINELink Is Not Mugshots
Ferry County's roster page gives detailed VINELink instructions: choose Ferry County Corrections as the agency and use the Booking # from the offender table as the Offender ID. That makes VINELink useful for custody status and notification. The research file did not confirm that VINELink publishes Ferry County booking photos, so it should not be described as a mugshot source.
For custody notice, use VINELink. For a booking photograph, use the roster first to identify the booking, then use the records-request process if the photo is needed. Those are separate tasks.
Mugshot Removal and Court Records
Ferry County does not publish a local mugshot-removal policy because it does not appear to publish mugshots on the roster. If a court case is dismissed, sealed, vacated, or otherwise restricted, the court-record path runs through the court and clerk rather than the jail roster. A jail cannot "expunge" a court case by editing a roster row.
Do not treat commercial mugshot-removal offers as official Ferry County record relief. The official route is to address the court record with the filing court and to ask the record-holding agency about any jail record it maintains. The court records after jail arrest page explains the charge and court-file side of that process.
Federal and State Booking Photos
Federal and state systems differ from Ferry County's jail roster. BOP generally does not publish federal mugshots through the inmate locator. ICE ODLS is a detainee locator, not a mugshot gallery. WA DOC visible search results showed DOC Number, Name, Age, and Location during research, and the research did not support a blanket claim that DOC public results provide mugshots.
When a person starts in Ferry County Jail and later moves to DOC, BOP, or ICE custody, the photo question moves with the agency that holds the record. The Ferry County roster can still be useful for the local booking number and custody source, but it is not a universal photo archive.
Note: Use official jail, court, DOC, BOP, and ICE sources; unofficial mugshot sites are not Ferry County records.
